Day 2 in Dubai

Sorry for the delay.. I am really hooked onto Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy. Haha.. Yeah, it probably sounds weird tt here I am halfway around the globe and I hv nothing better to do than to watch repeat telecasts of programmes everyone hv already watched but unless I speak Arabic, I hardly understand anything else on TV. :(

Anyway, here are the photos of Dubai day 2!

Breakfast of hard-boiled eggs, w/o yolk. MY FAVOURITE!!!

Went out for a drive around the neighbourhood... Alot of "indian" shops.

Museums don't really interest us so we went round 6 times to catch a picture of the entrance (camera was too slow) but didn't go in.

I love their buildings.. All v intricately designed and built.

Rich ppl houses along the beach front! Really palace-like...

There are v few free beaches or parks in Dubai bcoz rich ppl buy up all the beachfront to build their houses. The remaining govt plots of nature are only open to FEMALES AND FAMILIES. So single males can't go and even so, females and families hv to pay to enter!!!!!

One tiny plot of free beach...

HAPPY~

Hot sun = cool shades!

I am tall!!! :)

Big smilessssss.

Daddy's little girl.

10 Dec: Dubai Beach

As we kids played in the sand, the parents took refuge in the car. Spoilt parents! tsktsk!

From the dist, we cld see The Sail (Burj Al-Arab) and the ship's body (Jumeira Hotel)... 7 star hotel wor!!! Thousands of dollars per night!

Grand mosques...

Really awesome! :)

Here, the rich can hv literally everything! And the masses get alot of free stuff like free parking, ultra cheap petrol (land of oil ma!) AND FREE TAMPONS IN THE LADIES!

Example of rich man and his "toys"...

Air-con bus stops with v irregular FREE buses! Most of the time, these bus stops are for ppl to take refuge frm the heat.

Spinneys is like the elite supermarket here and is the only supermarket licensed to sell pork and alcohol in Muslim UA.E.

Aft the beach, we visited Souk. The hang-out for expats and tourists...

Outdoor shops and rest areas...

Indoors. Love the beams above, very country-feel...

Shopping time!

When in Rome, do as the Romans do. :P

Date and nut shop... YUM!

Sisha is popular here!

Bottled sand art.. Damn colourful!

Really skilled master at wrk.

Brass decos are popular too!

Me is short.

Lunch at a Jap fushion restaurant.

Next stop was the Mall of the Emirates.

There wasn't an amusement park unlike Sahara Mall but there was a ski slope! 4 storeys high, complete with ski lifts and real snow!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ice sculptures and slides make up the kiddy area. Cool lah!

Cool toy store with v realistic soft toys!! LIFE-SIZE!!!!!

Ma, I want this for xmas! :P

But needless to say, as everything was freaking expensive, we took a break for donuts! Even so, 1 donut cost $2.

Yum Yum Yum Yum!

Trix is delighted!

Alisa is high!

On our way home, we parked illegally by the side of the road to get photos of the Burj in its lighted splendor.

Upon reaching our apartment, we were hungry so I prepared cup noodles. My cute taichi panda China pyjames is my Dubai pyjames AGAIN!! And I wore my granny shorts. :)

Highlight of the day... GLAZED DONUTS!

Gd night folks!
